Who We Are

The Turnbow Foundation

The Turnbow Foundation is committed to improving the lives of disadvantaged children and their families through charitable giving, academic scholarships and access to career training.

Our scholarship and grant programs have increased over the years as the need to assist single parents pay for school has grown.

The benefits for single mothers having a bachelor’s degree is reflected in the fact that they are five times less likely to be in dire financial conditions when they have a degree. Our scholarships help single mothers afford the education they need for a secure financial future for their family.

Single mothers comprise a growing segment of the student body. Juggling family responsibilities, work, and school presents unique challenges.

The Turnbow Foundation has partnered with Mesa Community College Dental Hygiene Program offering a full scholarship after completing their Associate Degree prerequisites.

Our Vision

Through donations, scholarships, mentoring and career training, the Turnbow Foundation hopes to enable disadvantaged children and their families the opportunity to become financially self-sustaining for future generations.

History of the Foundation

The Turnbow Foundation was founded in 2003 by Judith (Turnbow) Reinartz with the dream to better the lives of children. Throughout Judy’s life she volunteered her support to local community issues, especially ones that involved children and single mothers.

Judy retired in 2002 and wanted to keep giving to her community and dedicated herself to charitable work. She established the Turnbow Foundation, which would allow her to continue her dream of making a difference.

Sadly, Judy passed away from cancer in 2003. Her son, Thomas Bambury, stepped in with the same passion for the foundation and proudly continues Judy’s vision of assisting those less fortunate in the community .
